Follow up: Something you won't see...
I don't want anyone to think I am bitter, angry or anything like towards Stephenie or Seth. I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to take a great and well visited site and make it better. I just don't understand.

Something you won't see...
Well, I have closed the poll early I had added to this blog. According to the overwhelming number of votes I received (a grand total of 2) it looks like people would like to see a new design for stepheniemeyer.com.
While it is primarily an information site, I still feel very strongly that it could use an update—especially with the release of Breaking Dawn and Twilight the movie just around the corner. I have been trading emails with Seth Meyer, Stephenie's little brother, who is the webmaster for the site over the past few weeks to see if it would be possible to help him with getting a new and updated look for the site. I offered to do the design work for free. No charge. I have some extra time on my hands between freelance projects and work—plus, I am a huge work-a-holic—my wife can attest to this. Here's the kicker—Seth says that Stephenie has no interest at all in changing the way the site is. Huh? Are you kidding? It's like having a car, it gets you from point A to B, the paint's a little dated and the leather's a tad faded and cracking, and there are definitely some miles on it—but it's a good car. Then, out of the blue, someone offers to do a lot of work on the car—new engine, new paint, new interior—the works—all for free, no strings attached. What do you do? Do you stay with the old car or do you take a chance on the "to good to be true" new car offer? Below is a sample of one of the few pages I put together for Seth.

Maybe enough people will read this and agree with me. Maybe Stephenie will change her mind. Maybe.

Fight scene between James and Edward
For those of you who are not aware, here is the first completed scene from the new Twilight movie due out this December. It's short, and it appears to be spliced, but what a rush. I thought Heather was going to have a mild heart attack when she watched it this morning before I went to work. Enjoy!

Passing the time...
So, Heather (my beautiful and gorgeous wife) has been playing Guitar Hero 3, passing the time until Breaking Dawn comes out. Here is a video of her playing GH3 on expert—she doesn't play very much, but you wouldn't know it given how good she is. She doesn't play anything but hard and now expert—everything else is too slow.

The Start of a Fan Base?

As many of you know, my wife went to the Stephenie Meyer book signing for The Host this past week. As they (my wife and the rest of the Twi-hards) took their seats and settled in to wait another couple of hours for the discussion and book signing to begin more discussions arouse—the topics numerous, but I am more than sure the name of "Edward" was mentioned at least 3 times a minute, followed by sighs of love and fantasy. My wife and her friend Amy (and Amy's sister) were in row nine, in the center section. One row back (my wife tells me) were a group of 14-year old girls who were having a discussion. As it's really hard not to eavesdrop when you're that close, Heather tells me that one of the girls asked the other girls if they'd heard of a blog titled Spouses of Edward Cullen Fans—my wife turned around and told them that was her husband's blog. The details of the rest of the conversation are a blur to me, but my wife did manage to snap a shot of the girls (see above).
Thanks for the support and comments, Kel Bel and friends—look for some neat stuff to come in the next few weeks.
Breaking Dawn release date theory
I received an email today from one of my friends, Gina Nielson, who came across this email about a possible theory as to why Breaking Dawn is set to release on August 2nd. This is pure speculation on my part, as I am sure it is of the author. As far as I know, Stepenie Meyer nor her publicist have confirmed nor denied what you are about to read.

Since February 7th we have been counting down the exact number of days until the release of Breaking Dawn. When I learned the date I rushed to my calendar to circle August 2nd. “Why August 2nd,” I had wondered? Looking at my calendar, I soon discovered why… August 1st happens to be an exciting night for all of us Twilighters… Following the usual time of Twilight, there happens to be a New Moon and a total solar Eclipse, making the morning after: Breaking Dawn! Coincidence that August 2nd was chosen? I think not. After my exciting discovery, I waited to see if any fan sites posted this piece of news. And waited, and waited… Either Stephenie or her publishers must have chosen the release date for this reason, so why hadn’t the press release included anything about this? Three months later, it didn’t seem like anyone was going to be commenting on the release date. So I decided to write to Kassie and Kallie about my discovery. Surely I’m not the only one to have noticed the awesome pick for the release date?

Anyways, I am sure that's already circulated the growing world of Twi-hards at least once, but I still found it interesting.

My wife is the best!
So, Heather got back from the signing and you know what she brought me? IHOP food! That's where they went to eat and she got an extra big meal so she would have something left to bring me!
That right there is how a Twi-hard supports her husband who supports her.
