I am almost done with Eclipse...

Even with work being crazy busy, both for Heritage Makers and freelance, and with an unexpected trip to San Jose for a funeral—I have still managed to find the time to read in what is turning out to be the best book of the Twilight series (calm down, I still haven't read Breaking Dawn). Most of my reading happens during the commute to and from work (I carpool in a van, for those of you who might worry that I am crazy enough to read and drive).

Anyways...more work to do.

Show your support for Stephenie Meyer

Okay, for those of you who don't know, I (with some prodding from some fellow Twi-hards) have started a blog where you can list your name (send first and last name, plus state where you live—outside the US send country—to supportstepheniemeyer@gmail.com) in support of Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight series.

Apparently, there is a SM fan who is upset with the way Breaking Dawn ended and is now telling people to return their copies and damage SM and her reputation as a writer. While I have not yet read Breaking Dawn (half way through Eclipse) I can't imagine not liking it to the point that I would consider returning it to the store. That seems to be something you would do with a pair of jeans you thought you could squeeze into—only to discover that you couldn't. Anyways...

Check out the blog and send in your name to show your support for SM.

New Twilight-inspired ad for Volvo

Okay, so I think this would totally be an awesome billboard or ad to see somewhere. Who knows, Volvo just might sell a few more of these bad boys.

Able to view images now

I don't know what I did, but I am now able to simply click on the images in my anniversary post and they pop-up in a window at the full size. Can anyone else verify this for me?

I finished New Moon

I finished New Moon. Finished last night actually. Great book, even with Edward's absence for a good chunk of the book. I really enjoy the way that the story is progressing. I have started Eclipse, only about 23 pages into it, but I am enjoying it so far.

More thoughts later.

Images in previous post

I thought it was possible to be able to click on an image and have it open in a new window to see the larger version... I will do some research and see if I can figure it out. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. For now, I guess you can download the image and view it that way.

Thanks.

9 Years of bliss... celebrated Twi-style

Yesterday was my nine-year anniversary of marriage to the love of my life, Heather. It was my year to plan what we were doing. Neither of us mentioned anything about the day until Heather called me in the early afternoon hours to casually mention Happy Anniversary. I feigned like I had sort of forgot that it was our anniversary, trying to set the stage for my plans. I am still not sure if she bought it 100%. I like to try and surprise Heather with things like this—like the time I surprised her with a pink iPod shuffle for Valentines Day—she had no idea on that one.

So, I got her roses, of course—seems to be one of the safe things to get for an anniversary. But the real gift was—and this is where Twilight comes in—a home-made card and 4 bookmarks (one for each of her Stephenie Meyer Twilight novels). First, the bookmarks. They are double-sided and laminated. Here's what they looked like:

Now, for the card. It's hard to explain how it folds, but some of you might get the idea. It's in three panels, and when opened it has a zig-zag shape to it. That's not really what's important, though. It's what's on the card—the message—that is what's important. See for yourself:

And the best part about it is she loved it. What a great anniversary.
