I finished Twilight!

Well, after waiting for what seemed like an eternity for the CDs to become available from the library and having a friend (Gina) send me a DVD with all three books on it, I can say I have finally been able to partake in what pre-teens, teens and moms with kids have experienced with the Twilight story. And here's the kicker—I never listened to the book. I read it.

I think I was spoiled with listening to the whole Harry Potter series read by Jim Dale. If any of you have had the chance to listen to them, you know what I am talking about. Jim Dale is phenomenal. Truly a wonder to listen to. The lady who read the Twilight series was a little less than that. Ah, who am I kidding—she was awful to listen to. With that said...

I loved the story of Twilight. Loved it. I see how this can turn into an obsession for some readers... for most readers. It took me about a week to read, here and there at night and to and from work (don't worry, I am not reading while driving—I am part of a ride-share carpool). I actually finished it this morning and have started reading the first chapter of New Moon that's in the back of Twilight. I am interested to see if this next book pulls me in like Twilight did. I'll keep you posted.

And, for all the guys out there that haven't read Twilight—you really don't know what you're missing. You really don't.

I agree about the audiobook! Jim Dale is fantastic.
I love listening to audiobooks when I drive. The lady who reads Twilight is not good and I hate how she says "Bell-LAH" I think it's worse in Eclipse because she tries change her voice for the different characters. UGH

I still listen to them, though.

It's great that another guy is reading Twilight. I got my hubby to read it. :)

I am so glad that you decided to read them. I agree with the lady on the audiobook. I really never liked how she read the book. I think you get more out of reading the book with the tones, attitudes, etc. that come into your own mind...how the characters say things. The lady in the audiobooks just didn't do it for me.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts about New Moon!
